South Asian Academy of Management hosted a panel discussion at LUMS on issues and challenges facing transgender persons in Pakistan.
In his opening talk, Dr Jawad Syed discussed how a relational lens may help us understand and address the multilevel issues facing transgender individuals in terms of their employment and social inclusion.
The event was attended by transgender and human rights activists, academics, employers, lawyers, and other members of society.
The highlight of the event was the most articulate and well-argued participation by transgender persons in the panel.
The event was sponsored by the University for Creative Arts, UK. It was co-organized by Shajara Ul Durar, Raja Ashraf, and Areeba Mumtaz. The event was co-hosted by the South Asian Academy of Management (SAAM).
