Jawad Syed’s interview with BBC Radio Kent on the 3% increase in the national minimum wage (12 March 2014 6pm)
BBC Radio Kent: It is feared today’s announcement of a rise in the minimum wage could put small businesses in Kent under even more pressure. It’ll go up by 19p an hour to £6.50 an hour from October, but Dr. Jawad SED from the Kent Business School says the increase should be higher. “I would say it’s a step in the right direction, however, it’s still not enough, particularly keeping in view that there still is significant difference between the living wage and the minimum wage.”
