We are delighted to share a reflective Post-Event Report and Feedback authored by one of our esteemed participants, Urva Tul Wusqa, following the South Asian Academy of Management’s (SAAM) Women Leadership Program (WLP), held in April 2025 in Lahore.

Urva Tul Wusqa, Head of OD & Talent at Highnoon, offers a personal and insightful narrative of the two-day experience, highlighting the program’s focus on developing self-leadership, emotional intelligence, negotiation strategies, and understanding the structural and cultural challenges women face in leadership roles.

Day 1 featured interactive discussions on self-awareness and leadership frameworks, culminating in a powerful legal session by Barrister Hamna Zain on the rights of women in Pakistan and an impactful session on emotional intelligence and gender by Dr Faiza Ali. The evening ended with a memorable dinner at Haveli Restaurant with Mr. Khalid Mirza, former Chairman of SECP, adding a layer of inspiration and mentorship to the experience.

Day 2 delved into one of the most critical yet underexplored areas for many leaders—negotiation. Through experiential learning and role plays, participants reflected on gendered dynamics in negotiations and explored strategies for achieving win-win outcomes in challenging environments.

Urva’s report not only captures the program content but also the collaborative energy, peer learning, and powerful exchanges that made the event a deeply enriching experience. Her reflections are a testament to the kind of leadership development SAAM aims to foster—grounded, courageous, and forward-looking.
